Mark Ruhnke is currently the Director of Music and Organist at St. Andrew's United Church on Bloor Street in Toronto. He has a Master of Sacred Music Degree from the University of Toronto, Emmanuel College, a new 2-year degree program offered in 2009, Mark being one of the first to enroll. He has also studied in the Faculty of Music, University of Toronto, where his focus was in Music Education culminating in an A.R.C.T.diploma in voice.
Previously he provided leadership in music at Zion-Wexford United Church in Scarboroughmusic for 14 years. At the same time, he was an educator for the Toronto District School Board, teaching for 12 years in Scarborough schools.
Since 2000 music opportunities have included: Minister of Music at Aurora United Church, Music Director at Willowbank Resort in Bermuda, adjudicator for the Sunderland Music Festival and the York Region Music Alive Festival, guest choral clinician for the One Voice Choir in Uxbridge, choral clinician and composer for a day at Faith United Church, Director of Music for the Lutheran Ashram summer pro-gram in Minnesota at St. John’s University, guest soloist at the Doctors Without Borders Benefit Concerts, to name a few!
